Brazilian Vinaigrette Recipe
Brazilian Vinaigrette Relish is an excellent side dish for any type of steak. It provides a healthier alternative to steak sauces or butter. The first time that we tried this dish was at a beach side restaurant called Picanha in Baja Tijuca, Brazil. Picanha is actually a type of steak that is extremely popular in Brazil and this type of vinaigrette relish is often served with picanha and other cuts of meat.
Ingredients:
2 Roma tomatoes, chopped
½ white onion, diced
¼ cup of diced yellow bell pepper
¼ cup of diced red bell pepper
½ cup water
½ cup vegetable oil
½ cup white vinegar
¾ tbsp kosher salt
1 tbsp dried oregano
3 tbsp fresh Italian parsley, chopped
fresh black pepper to taste
Preparation:
- Place all of the diced vegetables in a medium sized bowl.
- In a mixing bowl, mix together the vinegar, vegetable oil, and water.
- Pour the contents of the mixing bowl over the diced vegetables.
- Season the mixture with the salt, oregano, black pepper, and parsely.
- Mix lightly and refrigerate for at least an hour. The vinaigrette can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
