Belgium Waffle Recipe
Belgium waffles are easy to make! They only require a few ingredients which you probably already have in your kitchen. These were made with a Mickey Mouse waffle iron that my mother-in-law brought back from India but this recipe will work with any version of waffle iron that you have. We usually double up this recipe on weekends and freeze the extra waffles to use during the week.
Ingredients:
1 cup flour
2 tspn baking powder
¼ tspn salt
1/8 cup sugar
1 egg, lightly beaten
¼ cup vegetable oil
1 cup milk
Preparation:
- Grease your waffle iron.
- In a mixing bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- Add the egg, milk, and vegetable oil to the bowl. Mix until all of the ingredients are combined into a smooth batter.
- Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- After the waffle iron is heated, pour just enough batter to cover the bottom of the iron. Probably between ¼ to ½ of a cup of batter.
- Close the waffle iron and cook the waffle according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Serve waffles with butter and maple syrup.
